Vision This website is provided as a community service for the village
of Tarporley in Cheshire, England. We believe that the web will become
an integral part of everyone's life during the first decades of the
21st century. The web is a new and exciting media breaking barriers
of time and space and providing many new types of content and therefore
attracting intense commercial interest. The web is also unprecedented
in providing a low entry level cost, highly flexible, communication
medium. We believe that this presents an opportunity for "local"
web sites such as tarporley.net which will not offer sufficient margin
to interest the big players. We provide a focal point for the community with highly flexible content at a low cost and that cannot be achieved via conventional media. A Tarporley newspaper would not cover it's costs. A Tarporley website could cover it's costs. A website with a bigger coverage area than the village of Tarporley would not have local focus or local control. We provide a focal point for details of local businesses and associated attractions. There is no proper "yellow pages" of the Internet and even if there was would you travel to Tarporley to visit the one attraction you had located? If that one attraction linked through to the many other attractions in Tarporley via tarporley.net then the appeal in in visiting the village would be multiplied many times over.
